Bridgestone to invest $27.3 million to expand US tire factory

Comprehensive foreign reports, Japan Bridgestone Corporation announced that it will invest 27.3 million US dollars for its Bloomington engineering tire factory expansion.

In April this year, Bridgestone announced an investment of US$19.5 million to increase the production capacity of its Bloomington tire factory. Bridgestone recently announced that it will invest a further US$27.3 million in the plant to further expand the plant.

Kurt Danielson, president of Bridgestone Commercial Solutions, said: “We want to consolidate our leadership in this market (engineering tires), and these two expansion projects are just a small step toward our goal.”

The Bloomington Tyre Factory, part of Bridgestone Americas, was put into operation in 1994. It mainly produces engineering tires. Currently, the company employs 420 people. The expansion project will increase the number of local jobs by 47.
