Special start of wood fiber chemical materials

A few days ago, it was learned from the Institute of Forest Products Chemical Industry of the Chinese Academy of Forestry that the first major project of bio-based materials for forestry in China—the project of wood fiber chemical materials and functionalization technology—was implemented. The project will provide technological innovation platforms and support for the development of the forestry industry and the fostering of strategic industries in accordance with the layout of the biomass material industry chain and through top-level design.

The major projects jointly implemented by the Chinese Academy of Forestry, Shanghai Coking Co., Ltd., and Hebei Agricultural University will focus on the strategic objectives of forestry development, energy conservation and emission reduction, ecological security, and peasant income increase through molecular modification, resinification, solid state esterification, etc. Chemical methods and functional composite technologies, from the molecular, fiber and macroscopic aspects of the development of wood fiber chemical modification and functional key technologies. The project will break through the lignocellulosic molecular modification and resinification technologies, the lignocellulose/inorganic clay modified adsorption material technologies, the solid-state esterification and compression enhancement technologies of wood fiber materials, and the wood fiber-based functional packaging material preparation technologies. New degradable polymer materials, lignin-based resins, adsorbent materials, poplar reinforced materials, carbon-based electromagnetic shielding composite sheets, and functionalized packing boxes with high attachment values ​​and broad application prospects.

It is understood that wood fiber chemical materials and functional technology projects are organized by the Department of Science and Technology of the State Forestry Administration, the Ministry of Finance approved the establishment of the project, the national forestry public welfare industry research funding support for major scientific research projects.
