Taiwan Mosa Successfully Develops Airbag Inflator

Mosa Industrial Co., Ltd. of Taiwan announced that Mosa has successfully developed an airbag inflator and successfully became one of the few suppliers of inflatable equipment.

Mosa plans to produce 2 million airbag inflators in 2011 and supply them to Taiwan's Chunghwa Motor Co., Yulon Motor Co., and Na Zhijie Auto.

Yulon Group, Taiwan’s largest automaker, owns 25% of Mosa. Mosa is also the world’s second largest manufacturer of high pressure metal cans.

Mosa President Charles Wang said that Mosa has invested 66.7 million US dollars to expand the factory. Mosa expects that by 2014, the annual output of its air bag inflators will reach 12 million sets.

In addition, Mosa is also preparing to establish a new factory in northeast China to open up its market in mainland China. The annual demand for airbags in China is about 50 million.
