Thermocouple installation method

When installing thermocouples, observe the following principles:
1. The measuring end of the thermocouple should be located in a place that can truly represent the temperature of the measured medium, and should not be installed near the furnace door or be too close to the heated object;
2, thermocouples should have enough depth of insertion. For metal protection tubes, the insertion depth should be 5-20 times the diameter; for non-metallic protection tube thermocouples, the insertion depth should be 10-15 times the diameter. In addition, the part of the thermocouple protection tube exposed outside the equipment is as short as possible, and it is preferable to add a thermal insulation layer in order to reduce the heat loss.
3. When installing a thermocouple, it should be kept as vertical as possible to prevent deformation of the protection tube at high temperatures. If the thermocouple is installed horizontally, it will bend down due to its own weight at high temperatures. It can be supported by a brick or heat-resistant metal bracket to prevent bending.
4. The thermocouple installation site should try to avoid external interference such as strong magnetic fields and electric fields. Floating mounting can be used to keep the thermocouple out of contact with the furnace wall to avoid leakage currents.
5, if the measured medium with high pressure or negative pressure or harmful gases, the thermocouple installation must be strictly sealed, so as not to enter the outside air, affecting the accuracy of the measurement; if the harmful gas overflow, pollution of the air harm to human health. For pressure thermocouples, they must also be installed in accordance with the requirements of the relevant industry regulations.
6, the installation should be solid. Especially when measuring the temperature of a moving or rotating object, the thermocouple must be firmly attached.
