To release PM2.5 monitoring results in 74 cities nationwide before the end of this year

The reporter learned from the Ministry of Environmental Protection on the 25th that the Implementation Plan for the First Stage Monitoring of New Air Quality Standards requires 74 cities across the country to complete the test run of the PM2.5 “national control point” monitoring by the end of October and announce the monitoring results before the end of December.

It is understood that in accordance with the "three-step" implementation plan of the new air quality standard approved by the State Council, this year will take the first step in the implementation of the new "Ambient Air Quality Standard." The Ministry of Environmental Protection has given a "first step" implementation plan. According to the implementation plan, before the end of October, all state-controlled sites in key regions such as the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Region, the Yangtze River Delta, the Pearl River Delta, as well as municipalities, provincial capital cities, and cities planning cities will complete the installation of equipment such as PM2.5 and carry out tests at the same time. It is understood that at present, the Ministry of Environmental Protection has a total of 1,436 state-controlled sites throughout the country, and the first batch of state-controlled sites for monitoring PM2.5, CO, and O were announced this time, totaling 505. Among them, the number of national control monitoring points for the four municipalities directly under the Central Government are: 12 in Beijing, 15 in Tianjin, 10 in Shanghai, and 17 in Chongqing. All provinces except Hebei, Zhejiang, Jiangsu, and Guangdong participate in more cities, and the first batch of other provinces that have been included in monitoring are mostly capital cities.
